5Ci. Pascal’s law is a principle in fluid mechanics given by Blaise Pascal that states that a pressure change at any point in a confined incompressible fluid is transmitted throughout the fluid such that the same change occurs everywhere

*) Hydraulic Lift: The image you saw at the beginning of this article is a simple line diagram of a hydraulic lift. This is the principle of working of hydraulic lift. It works based on the principle of equal pressure transmission throughout a fluid (Pascal’s Law).

(*) The construction is such that a narrow cylinder (in this case A) is connected to a wider cylinder (in this case B). They are fitted with airtight pistons on either end. The inside of the cylinders are filled with an incompressible fluid.

The buoyant force on an object can be calculated using the Archimedes principle.

i)Steam will produce more severe burns than boiling water because steam has more heat energy than water due to its latent heat of vaporisation.

ii)Water pipes burst because the water inside them expands as it gets close to freezing, and this causes an increase in pressure inside the pipe . When the pressure gets too high for the pipe to contain, it ruptures.
